Looking ahead to my trip, it's looking brutally hot for Squamish. I am bumming. Anywhere else in the greater Seattle-Vancouver-ish area that would be cooler cragging with reasonable car camping?
I wouldn't give up on Squampton, you can hide from the sun, theres often a breeze and the marine influence can produce clouds and fog with little advance notice. Angel's Crest is good on a warm day.
I was stressing on the same thing, however the weather update is showing squamish to be at it's worst in the high 80's which is far better than anything here in Leavenworth. Headed to canada today!! Contact me if anyone wants to crag.
I've been in Squamish for the past week and we have found plenty to climb comfortably even on the days it has soared over 90 degrees. The majority of the multipitches are in the shade for the 1st half of the day and most are nicely cooled by steady afternoon breezes once the sun catches you in the afternoon.
The Smoke Bluffs is probably the hardest place to find that combo of decent shade and afternoon breezes.
