Hello! We are a climbing couple from Colorado and are back-packing Europe with our climbing gear. We sport climb single pitch routes. Ryan is comfortable leading a 5.10. We are in Berlin at the moment and have no specific plans but would like to do some more cliimbing in Germany and maybe head to Croatia and Italy. If you are a local, we'd love to gain from your knowlegde. If you are new to the area like us, we could do some exploring together! We are in Europe until mid-August. Thanks! Ryan and Jen

Hi Ryan and jen, I'm local but with poor experience in single pitch routes. But i'have been serveral time in Arco (It) for multipitches and seen a number of strong sport climbers in single pitch. Arco is one of the key place for sport climbing in Italia. arcowall.com/ is the website for sport climbing and the guidebook is versantesud.it/fr/shop/arco… ...........450 pages..... For multipitches the website is arrampicata-arco.com/, the guide book versantesud.it/shop/arco-pa… ........600 pages........ You can wear several pairs of climbing shoes and have a bath in Gardia lake if tired. It is only a 4 hours drive from Munchen. There is also Zillertal in Austria it is well known for sport climbing. But Austria is really rainy My experience from Croatia is not positive, very hot and wet, crowdy, tricky bolting (in multipitch routes) Enjoy Pierre

Pierre, Thank you for the great recommendations! The rain has been a little bit of an issue on our travels. We were able to climb outdoors in Hungary but once we hit Germany the rain has been pretty consistent. We appreciate your response. Cheers! Jen and Ryan

Good deal, I just sent an e-mail (before seeing the post). July I am mostly in the Frankenjura, but early august I will be further south (German/Austrian Alps). I'll keep an eye out in the case I drive even further.
