Compliments to wire nuts DL/Necedah

Currently looking for some passive protection to add to my set of Black diamond wire nuts (size 4-13) most specifically for setting top rope anchors at Devils Lake, and perhaps some added protection on some sport routes in Necedah. Eventually I will start buying cams when I start getting more into trad. but for the time being I am looking toward something more cost efficient, perhaps some hexentrics. I quite possibly may be acquiring a set over the next few weeks as I can afford them. Any suggestions to what sizes may work well to compliment the wire nuts, and/or what sizes may be most common at DL/ what I should start with? Maybe even a few tri cams may come in handy? Of course any other suggestions welcome!

Budget starter rack for DL top-roping in order of purchase:

1. 80' of 1" Tubular Webbing or 9mm Static
2. BD Stoppers 4-13
3. BD Hexes 6-11
4. DMM Offsets 7-11
5. Camp Tricams .5-3.0

Assuming that you are going to get into trad climbing but want to avoid purchasing cams right now, my thought would be to buy the passive pro you want to have on your *rack* when you start leading trad. So do some research about what passive pro you'd like to trad lead on, if any, besides the BD nuts. If the answer is none, maybe you should just fork out for some mid-range sized cams now and save some money overall.

I like DMM Torque Nuts and Off-sets, and CAMP Tricams. But that's just my preference.

I do use the DMM offset nuts a lot. Otherwise I've never been in a situation at DL where I wished I had a hex or a tricam over a cam.

Thanks James for your opinion on starter sizes for hexes offsets and tris. I also see your point mathias and Jason. Amy other feedback is certainly welcome.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
