Kong Futura Mini Block Vs other haulers

Does anyone have any experience with or thoughts on this? I'm looking for a hauler and have been considering the Petzl Protaxion, the Kong Futura Mini Block and the Kong Block Roll (think of all the beer I could haul!... If I could haul all that beer). The Futura Mini (according to the manufacturers specs.) is lighter than the Protraxion 165g vs. 290g, stronger 25kn vs 22kn with the brake working up to 4kn on both. Petzl does list a working load limit of 2.5kn whereas Kong doesn't mention a working load limit. Of course these are just numbers from a manufacturer, how do they actually translate in the real world? Then of course their is the Kong Block Roll, is it just overkill or are the Mini Block and Protraxion pushing the limits. I have done some online searching and found a good amount of info regarding the block roll and protraxion but I can't seem to find anything on the Futura Mini block. Of course some context is helpful, I'm looking to do some solo 1-2 night walls but I'd like to dream big and keep the door to future trips open without having to buy more gear, errrr more gear than I have to. Thanks for your insight and input.

My advice would be to get a micro-traxion. For 1-2 nights solo it should be fine. A working load limit is the safe working load, including a safety factor.

For bigger loads look up Mark Hudon's 2:1 ratchet. Use good ball-bearing pulleys and figure it out before you go. After getting my setup decently dialed in I doubt I will ever go back to 1:1 hauling except for the lightest of bags.

A larger diameter sheeve makes hauling easier in general. The protraxion is smooth. If you are hauling a lot of weight though you could look into a system like the Petzl JAG.

I'm totally into 2:1 hauling and have it pretty much perfected. I can haul a standard 250 pound load as fast as anyone can clean one of my pitches.

The JAG system looks cool but you would have to be hauling a really, really big load, 500 pounds or more, to justify using 4:1.

When I soloed Grape Race I used a 3:1 for a few pitches. The hauling was up a slab and I had way too much stuff. It also takes a soul crushing amount of time to pull up a load 150 feet with a 3:1. 4:1 would be crazy, crazy slow.

The old Pro-Traxion was a total piece of junk, so I have always used the Kong Block-Roll, even though it is rather big and heavy.

The Micro-Trax is really sweet, and will work great for normal-sized [not PtPP-sized] loads.

I'd really like to get my hands on the NEW Pro-Trax, which looks to have corrected all the old design flaws by using a similar design to the Micro-Trax. What really catches my eye is its purported 97% efficient pulley!

Anyone got one? They are not cheap. I have never even seen one. Maybe someone can give me one to review? [HINT]

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
