Picture Copy is an actual copy and not a link.

It seems when adding a picture as a copy, it is an actual copy and not a link to the previous picture. So when changing the topo of the original picture, the "copied" picture still has the old topo.

I find this troublesome as I put a topo with multiple routes in an area and have copies of the topo in individual routes. But then I update the topo info, but the individual routes now don't get the updated topo data.

So I have to delete the picture from each route and create a new one, using the same ID as before. I find this strange.

Looking at a route, the picture's preview (on the route page) does have the updated topo. Interesting. Opening it up, it has the outdated one.

So I have to edit the pic properties (which shows the original pic id) and just press ok (not changing anything). This will update the topo. At least I don't have to delete and re -copy the pic.

Post the URLs of the photos and I'll have a look. The topo data is separate and probably not staying in sync correctly.

Here is a route and you see in the preview pic that "Crimp Fest" is slightly going left:

mountainproject.com/v/crimp…

Opening the pic now shows the line going slightly right:

mountainproject.com/v/11066…

This is the original pic (where it's going left):

mountainproject.com/v/11066…

Fixed it Ron, thanks for the report!

It was a caching issue.

Awesome!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
