Description
A great crag on the backside of the San Bernardino Mountains that features a pair of laser cut aretes and a variety of other interesting routes.
- Climbing is possible here all year long but the best time to visit is Autumn through Spring.
Getting There
Exit Main Street off Interstate 15 and head east on Main Street. Make a left turn onto Rock Springs Road and continue east onto Roundup Way which turns to dirt. Continue east and make a right turn onto Bowen Ranch Road.
Drive Bowen Ranch Road to the Tee in the road and make a left turn onto Coxey Truck Trail (3N14).
Follow Coxey Truck Trail approximately 2 miles up some steep hills to Oak Springs Ranch where Butt Rock is visible and obvious. Continue past the ranch up another steep hill, past a forest service gate, and park at a flat plateau above the rock.
Walk west across flat ground for about ten minutes until the top of the rock becomes visible.
