Holcomb Valley Area

Hi All,

Last few years I've seen some fire rings pop up around the parking lot at Holcomb Valley.. These are illegal fires. One time my friend Patrick witnessed a bunch of kids throwing pallet after pallet atop each other wanting to have a bon fire in the parking lot. Please refrain from illegal fires at Holcomb valley and if you see someone else doing it stop them. It will only take one fire in Holcomb valley area to ruin the entire area. I say this because my favorite trail in So Cal South Fork is pretty much torched now...so sad.

Ya Locker I agree but I'm hoping one good dude see's one stupid dude with a illegal fire they will say or do something....To be honest I saw a person once with a illegal fire in the San Gorgonio area and I didn't do anything or say anything, which I regret......Lesson learned...

A while ago, we would break up the fire rings, and write on discarded pieces of pallets: NO FIRES

It didnt seem to work as each time we would return, there would be new fire rings.

It's so dry here right now that one tiny ember off of your fire could burn thousands and thousands of acres - and that would be it for this beautiful area.

Hey Chris,
Yes it's a beautiful place I love it. It's gotten so crowded in last few years and I'm so afraid of the illegal camp fires like you said it only takes one....Sadly enough man Locker is right we can't fix stupid but I think the more we voice are outrage and stop people from having illegal fires at Holcomb maybe it will be the "one" that saved the forest...People who have illegal fires are selfish so if we tell them you get fined $10,000 and the Feds will shut Holcomb down like Mt Williamson maybe it will make a difference......maybe...
