Any advice on top rope climbing..... routes that are 5.8-5.10 in the Pagosa Springs area or around there?

Thanks so much!

Don't know too much about Pagosa, but Durango (about an hour alway) has a ton of climbing.

I would love some beta on that too.

A great spot that will have good top rope climbs, nice scenic....maybe by a steam?

Thank you!

Try the Piedra River Canyon. Many of the anchors are accessible for top-roping and it is a beautiful area. I think info is in the route guide on MP.

X rock in Durango has a good amount of top ropes. Good views of the animas and a short approach, both driving from town and walking. Because of that, there will be a lot of people if you go on a weekend or an afternoon. Hit it in the morning on a weekday and you might be the only one there.

Thank you guys. I found the Piedra River Canyon area and it looks amazing for just hiking, fishing AND climbing. I think I will target that.

Is the Piedra River Canyon just the Piedra River Trial? That is what comes up when I google it?

I see beta on Mountain Project but no map or where the routes are. I figure I will have to just wing it...but the directions seem inconsistent.

I hope I can get a few good climbs in! I strained a finger in Heaps Canyon in Zion this weekend and it hurts!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
