Is there anything close? Family reunion at Strawberry Pinnacles and I'm looking for something to take the kids on.

Nothin' I can think of that'd be remotely un-chossy. Some seriously loose rock in that area that I wouldn't take folks any where near. Scary!

There is nothing developed that I know of, there are some potential bouldering areas, or mini-lines, mainly sandstone. One "potential" area would be north and west of Duchesne which you are closer too, Strawberry Pinnacles is more in the Fruitland area. The other would be South of Myton, which is right in between Duchesne and Roosevelt. If that is of interest let me know and I can give you better directions.

Sure, I'd be interested in directions. That rock at Strawberry Pinnacles is utter choss but fun to look at. You can just watch the rocks fall off randomly...
It seems like there would be some sandstone around Starvation somewhere. Maybe even some short deep water soloing? Near some small cliff jumps? We'll have a boat.

What the hell are you worried about choss for? After my last excursion, it's all I'll ever climb. So much character!

I don't mean to quote but my phones browser is acting screwy, anyway the rock at Flaming Gorge is fun to jump off, although it is illegal to jump higher than 10 ft, due to people jumping off the 60 ft suspension bridge by the dam.
To find the rock closest to the Pinnacles get back on 40 going East and prior to the Pinion Ridge rest stop take the turnoff to Tabiona, the road heads due North for 10 miles ? Take it all the way to a T then go right/east the rock that I am talking about is little and on the left initially and as you continue for the next three miles or so you will see boulders on both sides of the road, this land is probably all privately owned, so it wouldn't hurt to ask prior to climbing. Again, it doesn't look great, just interesting, hope it is worth your time. The other area is off the main road that goes fromMyton towards Pleasant Valley, take the road behinf the Ute Sinclair in Myton, (which is 20 min past Duchesne going East) take your first right, go up a hill and arounf to a T go left, and it will be about 1 to 2 miles on your left. Good Luck

Does anyone know the history of the climbing on the actual strawberry pinnacles above Camelot resort?Looks like there is something man made on top of both of them. (I didn't have binoculars to scope what the object were). I heard a noticeable sized chunk fell off around 10 years ago and that there used to be a flag on top of one. The rock looks pretty junky. Anyone know details of the route or climbing techniques or history?

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
