New Guide Book: Rocky Mountain National Park
|
I just received an advance copy of RMNP: A Comprehensive Guide to Scrambles, Rock Routes, and Ice/Mixed Climbs on the High Peaks. Written by Richard Rossiter. Published by Fixed Pin. Descriptions are very detailed, well organized, easy to follow and with good topos with beautiful color photos. I believe they will be out sometime this summer. If you climb in the park, it is a must have guide book. I expect that I will be using this a lot for my guiding in the Park! Norie Kizaki, Colorado Mountain School |

Very, very cool Norie. Looking forward to a sneak peak at it for some hopeful climbing this weekend in the park, if this weather holds off. Stoked! |

Any pics of the book that you could post? Would like to see what the format looks like. |

I thought rock guiding in the park wasn't allowed? |
|
Hey Everyone, |
|
Matt: The Colorado Mountain School is the mountain guiding concessionaire at RMNP. You can find that information on the Park's website. Paid guiding services are allowed with a concession permit. Typically only one is issued. |

This year there are multiple companies with technical climbing permits for the park. The permits are limited to 3 days total for the year, but it's a move in the right direction. |

It will be on sale through the end of next week on our website: fixedpin.com/products/rocky… It's a truly incredible book. It's great. Color photographs, maps, topos, and nice descriptions. Much needed upgrade to the current available guidebooks. Just hoping it ships soon. |

Fixed Pin is certainly excelling at the art of legal plagiarism. |

Fixed Pin is certainly excelling at the art of legal plagiarism. That being said, their books are quite good. Huh? Which of their authors have plagiarized anything? It would be interesting to hear a few examples. Except that there aren't any. |
|
I pre-ordered one, also. Anyone heard when they might ship? |

What replaced Bernard Gillett Rocky Mountain National Park, Estes Park Valley guidebook? |

Charles Perry wrote: Gillett is finishing a new version now. You'd have to ask him about ETA, but last I knew it was to be later this year. |

Thanks! |
