Access Issue: Echo Canyon Seasonal Closure: Jan. 1 - second Saturday in April (and sometimes longer)
Details
The Echo Canyon climbing areas are located within the Henefer-Echo Wildlife Management Area. The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources closes all access to the WMA each year from January 1 to the second Saturday in April (and sometimes longer) to protect wintering wildlife.
Description
This route has a definitive crux at the steep section just before the wall turns to slab. You climb some easy stuff, get a full rest, and go for a three move wonder on insecure holds. If you fall in the crux, you'll fall like 2 feet to the bolt in front of your face. finish the slab to the chains. The rock quality is pretty solid. worth doing if your already there. My reccomendation is to skip the bolt in the middle of the crux. the fall is super clean and you'll just burn energy trying to clip it.
