Lost Whale at Rumney! Also, found a draw.

His name is Milfred. We've been climbing/snowboarding/traveling/ect together for years now, but he was lost somewhere at Rumney this past Saturday. He's been teaching me to speak whale, and he loves climbing and long swims along the beach.

The Whale in Vail

I had him an Bonsai around 11am, Sat 6/6. We walked straight from there to Waimea Waimea, which is where, around 3pmish, is when I realized he was no longer with me.

Rappelling with Milfred in Acadia...

If anybody has any clues as to his whereabouts, I would gladly offer a reward... strong sentimental value. I have a 10(?) year old sister that would kill me if she found out I lost him...

Oh and ALSO! I found a quickdraw going up Sweet Polly Purebred, Main Cliff. If anyone can describe it and maybe knows which bolt it was at, I will gladly try to return it to you. I am guessing it was just forgotten somehow, because it was in a really odd spot to bail from...

When I try a 10a, could take me alll day.
I get pumped off the bump and hit the floor trying to pull that dang figure four.
Gotta take, when I get that flake, cause holding that next slope, for me is a big nope!
I be yelling like Alex honnald and flailin like old McDonald,
I mean I guess it's some gneiss schist, but I just can't jam my fist.

Think you can climb like me, first you gotta rhyme like me,
My beta's so bad, it's really quite sad,
i make a 5.10b, look like a 5.12d!
But that's cause you see, nobody climbs like me.

I love it
and if i see that big fish, I will send him swimming back up stream as I am in the Gunks today.

Thanks peeps! You peoples seem pretty nice... hopefully someone picked him up, and if not returned he is at least well cared for and enjoys climbing with his new friends...although I'll miss him.

And Michael, yeah that spurred out of a slight forum argument...
here
so I just kinda went with it. Good thing I had to learn to rap in Acadia.

Happy climbing...

I would also try the forums at neclimbs.com where more new england climbers may troll around.

That's tragic about Milfred. I'm so sorry about your loss. Was he microchipped?

Sadly he was not, ...at the time buying new quickdraws felt more pertinent. I'd make a bad father...
