Maybe we are just early....Anyone else maybe have a kid closer to age 7 and looking to get out Friday or Saturday?

I have my daughter every other weekend inluding Fridays. I've been taking her with me climbing since she was 2 weeks old and she's a seasoned crag kiddo. I would like to get out somewhere this weekend, probably Saturday and most likely climbing at Devils head (less crowds). Let me know if you want to go.

Mike, I have two boys that are 6 now but have been seeing limited pitches outside since they were 4. My schedule is a little hectic to commit to anything in the near future, but you should really check out the newer east colfax crag in clear creek. It is a great spot for kids and beginners. It appears to be the new highwire as it gets pretty crowded with newbies and kids. It is a great place for your daughter though, three 5.4 and multiple 5.6 and 5.7 routes. And areas to eat lunch by the river and throw rocks in the water (kid thing).

Cat slab also has a 60 foot 5.4 that my boys sent lots of times.

Enjoy!

Mike, sorry didn't see your post until today. My daughter is 7. The camping at DH is great, lots of free sites and some nice pay sites too. I'm headed to Yosemite so we should try to get out when I get back. I take my daughter climbing and camping with me all summer.

Our family climbs nearly every weekend with our 3 boys, 7, 9 , and 12. Usually we hit up Golden-area crags, sometimes we make it up to Boulder, often we visit Devils Head. We usually keep it short and sport since the logistics are easier with three kiddos in tow but have been known to hit up Eldo from time to time. We will probably be out Saturday or Sunday this coming weekend and are always on the lookout for like-minded parents. Feel free to PM me.

cheers.
