Has anyone ever noticed some of the amazing rock around the goldstrike hot springs trail? Of course a lot of the rock is loose, but it seems like some sections of the rock walls lining the trail are perfect for climbing.

Does anyone know if bolting along the goldstrike trail is legal? Or if others have attempted before?

You could always call the lake mead NRA and find out. I hiked out to Arizona hot springs years ago (I think that's it's name anyway) and saw some bolted routes on the hike down to the river. They looked hard and well polished.

I don't know about the legality of it, but I do see what you mean about some good looking rock. Park services shut down all the hot spring hikes for the summer though.

(fact check this...I am not an expert)

I believe that area is a part of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area and bolting is prohibited.
