Traveling to OR in two weeks for summit ski descents of Jefferson, S. Sister and Hood. Any of you rando dudes have up to date snow pack beta?

Snowpack this year is very low, about 25-35% of average. Conditions are presently like a typical mid-June, with bare ground common below about 7,000'. Above that, spring snow conditions the past couple of weeks have been good to very good for skiing.

Right now,a storm is bringing in some fresh, wet snow so it will be sloppy for a few days, but only until warmer weather returns.

Should be alright starting at Timberline for Hood. Last I heard the groomers by the parking lot were still around

Thanks for the beta. I'm hearing the same from others around the Bend area. Good possibility of corn vs new snow on firm under surface. Hoods summit is skiable via Wy'east or old chute, pearly gates is not in.

Dropped in just under the summit and skied the fall line of this sick steep west face of Broken Top.

Epic-califragilistic-ixpy-allidocious.

It's amazing how much steeper and gnarlier things look when you laterally compress images and over rotate them.

But it makes me spring time fresh.

I'm attempting Jeff in a couple weeks, I'm curious to hear about your trip... How were conditions?

Yeah for a second there I thought I was pretty extreme too, because I have dropped all those lines as well. Then on my way to the fridge to grab a Mountain Dew I remembered they were pretty mellow.

Rotate and compress then repeat.

Denial, camped just below the Jefferson park Glacier basin. Left camp at 3:30 am, ascended Jefferson park Glacier to the narrow ridge, which was very alpiney and icy for a low snow season. ascended the summit pinnacle up a narrow runnel of WI3 with maybe a few moves of WI4. I had one tool and a BD whippet, which doubled as a very necessary second tool. Summited at 11 AM. Overall the snow pack was much more full than expected based on the low snow year. Anchors included three ice screws and a snow picket.
