Going to be in southern Utah/Zion in early June and hoping to do some climbing if possible, though it looks to be wicked hot. Any suggestions besides don't climb? Areas or times or headlamps? Thanks!

No idea of what grades you are looking for, but generally climbing in Zion begins at 5.10 and is generally more fun if you lead harder than that. You will likely be able to crag (seeking shade, of course) at the Cerberus Gendarme [varied aspect due to canyon walls], as well as the Tunnel Wall and Cragmont areas [north facing], and the Confluence area [West facing].
Play the aspect game right and you can still have a blast...bring lots of water.
