I could find you some partners if you will drive a little farther north into Albania. Also the Albania climbing festival is mid June if you wanted to check that out.

I visited the "climbing island", Kalymnos, Greece last year. It was a lot of fun! Mostly sport though. You can fly directly to Kalymnos or to Kos, the larger island nearby. The island is really small so getting around will be easy. You can rent a scooter, as most climbers do. Massouri is a great place to stay. There are a few "climber bars and cafes" there. The food on this island is some of the best I had from all of Greece.

This website gave me a lot of useful tips on getting there.

Bruno and Trevor,
Glad to see some posts with others looking for company around there! I'll be headed to Greece down from Macedonia sometime around the beginning of May and then hopefully Antalya/Geyikbairi. I might be traveling with someone for part of the time, but we'd welcome a 3rd or 4th and I'll certainly be looking for someone when he heads back home.

All great things to hear! Thanks for all the great information. I will be flying into Istanbul on the 26th and have until the 30th to head to the southern coast or over to Greece. At this point I'm without definitive plans and honestly I'm pretty flexible within those dates. I'm just meeting my special lady friend in Kos and Rhodes around the 30th for another week and then back to Istanbul for a few more days.

Buether(David?) and Trevor,

Buether, it would be nice if we can fit our trip ! I will land in Istanbul on May 7th ! I'm quite flexible for where to go but I was planning to go at Geyikbayri first and then go to Kalymnos ! Just tell whats your plan with more details and I might change mine !

Trevor, I have to leave for Istanbul on May 26th. It might not fit it your dates unless you want to travel earlier ?

Looks like a good time. I live in Sicily. I'm gonna look up airfares and my work schedule for the month of June.

I am unable to travel any earlier than the 26th, but I'm flexible from Istanbul, thinking about climbing in Israel since the flights are less expensive easier to fly to Greece after my time in the country and Israel has always been a place I've wanted to visit. Does anyone have info on how to connect with the climbing community?

Paul, if you're available come down during the last week of May I would definitely be up for linking up with you to climb in turkey or Israel. I'm flexible with the location, Israel is just a slightly less expensive to fly in and out of when heading to Rhodes and Kalymnos. What are your thoughts?

I just got set up for surgery to get a surgical titanium nail taken outta my femur from when I broke it in a MX race 8 years ago. I'm very excited to, hopefully, be asymptomatic when the doctor is finished with me and I've recuperated! I'll probably be in no shape to climb at the end of May. I'll keep this in mind--I failed to make my way to the hospital from Sicily to Landstuhl, the last time I scheduled an appointment.

I'd LOVE to travel to Greece to partner up with some rock lovers. For the month of May, it's not gonna happen! Good luck to everyone!
