Hi all,

The SCC is hosting a community forum on Thursday, May 28 at Stone Summit Atlanta in the upstairs conference room at 7:30 pm.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend and provide constructive feedback, ideas and discussions. We will address the issues brought up in this thread and provide a place for questions and further discussion.

(**I will not be checking in on this forum again. If you have comments or questions about the meeting, please email me or any of our board members. My email is cody@seclimbers.org and you can find contacts for others at seclimbers.org)

We've also set up a live stream via google hangouts for those of you that can't be there: plus.google.com/events/ca4v…

And let's not forget keeping it hush hush while the paid route developers put up gems with names like:

mountainproject.com/v/in-ex…

...while stonewalling the author of the Dixie Craggers atlas until Cody Averbeck's guide came out. Wait...haven't we heard that name before in this thread? Oh...that's right...the guy who bought the property and sold some to the SCC.

TS, my post was, of course, intended to convey that there was never a shady real estate deal (and there wasn't) but your reply brings to my attention the fact that I was jumping to conclusions about what went down in the beginning with regard to the cliff's development. In retrospect, I actually don't know the sequence of events at that time. I didn't intend to distort the facts though, and that I regret.

LEEEEEEEEEEEEEROY JENKINS!!!

Get at it guys. Wish i could be there to witness the uprising. But seriously we all agree that we need better stewardship, so lets try to work it out.

So the hangout didn't work early, then I came back later and caught the last bit on YB and Tallulah.

Any resolutions?

Quick update. Many of the heavy hitters of Tallulah (and me) had a meeting last night to talk about improving climbing access in the gorge.

I think we have a good starting plan and we'll see where it goes with the park service. Thanks to everyone for coming out. Word on the street is that the peregrines have fledged and that climbing access will resume shortly.

I'd also like to amend my previous perception that the SCC doesn't give a flip about NE GA as we had two SCC board members in attendance. Thanks for coming out Scott and Jason.

Glad to hear, from the SCC, that Tallulah has reopened. Good work fellas!

And they’re still going. They’re establishing between 25-35 new routes across this area, improving and promoting Chattanooga as an innovative outdoor city." ...I'm still digging. theunfoundation.org/grants-… theunfoundation.org/project…

Monteagle mountain? I'd like to know what that entails. Did you find more information about that? I live on monteagle mountain and our climbing is not open climbing.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
