Hey man, of the boulders around, the bald dries fast but the season is about over, being that it is a south facing hillside. Of the boone boulders, 221 dries pretty fast with this sort of periodic thunderstorm thing thats been going on. It all depends on when the rain comes and what the weather is like otherwise. The dump sport climbing area is south facing and low-commitment, so even if if is totally soaked, you aren't 1.5 hours into the gorge like you would be with the stuff in the amphitheater.

  • I would also like to recommend Burial Brewing in AVL, Appalachian Mountain Brewing in Boone, and Fonta Flora Brewery in Morganton if you want to drown your sorrows.

Barret, I appreciate those suggestions but they're a bit too much for us at this time...:p

AField, we're probably going to check out that sport climbing at Little Wilson at some point. Thanks!

Ship Rock dries fast as well. Lots of great single pitch trad climbs and in the same neighborhood as Little Wilson / Dump.

Whitesides, Boulder problem in the sky, always dry.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
