weather in the Valley

Hi All,
I am making a trip to the Valley soon and have been looking at weather reports. There are discrepancies between sites. Weather.com has the warmest temps and climbingweather.com has the coldest. weather.gov is in the middle. Weather.gov pinpoints on a map where it is predicting weather for. The other two sites do not. My question is... does anyone know what area of Yosemite climbingweather.com is predicting for? Is it predicting for the valley at all? or is it up in Tuolumne? any insight is helpful. also, suggestions on the most accurate weather forecasting site for the Valley proper.

Thanks,
Mac

Mac,

Are you familiar with "point forecasts" on the NOAA website?

When you type in "Yosemite Valley" and click "Go," the forecast will show up. Go to the map below, zoom as necessary and click the area you want a forecast for. You will get a specific point forecast and the elevation will be shown below the map. Repeat as necessary.

Hi Frank,
Thanks for the response. Yes, I am familiar with this. It is a great tool!. I am just trying to figure out the reason for the discrepancies between this forecast and some others (area being foretasted for, poor weather model, etc).

I've written e-mails to weather.com (not .gov) to ask where in Yosemite their forecsst is for. With no response. Good luck. I'd go with the NOAA forecast.

Edit: The "w" in weather appears in my typing box, but not on this thread. Same thing with your original post. Eerie!
