CMI makes them and identifies them as a "tactical" item.

But what good is a grappling hook without a grappling hook launcher?

You guys are idiots. Grappling hooks allow you to pull along side another sailing vessel, cast it into their rigging and pull their vessel along side yours so you can board, rape and pillage. Super useful.

I don't know who should be more worried - the seller, that he might be murdered by a stranger for his life insurance money, or the buyer, that he'll be the primary suspect if any misfortune should befall him.

Those math skills too. 20 biners, at $3 each, for $40.

Also, only selling as a set. None of you "I only need 5 biners" climbers. This is serious.

Start trusting your very lives that the hook will hold and won't drop you to your death, then crush your lifeless face when it lands on your corpse. Huphup!"
the only genuine application i've seen for grappling hooks is in canyoneering and caving. sometimes when you rap down a hole there's a big pool of water beneath you with no ledges to climb up, and a ledge leading to the rest of the cave or canyon you need to pull yourself over to. toss the grappling hook with some cordage attached and try to hook something, and pull.

using a grappling hook as an anchor like most people imagine is, as you would expect, a terrible idea.

$500/ea for "buy it now" ropes on Ebay.

WTF.

I suppose that they are relying on people shopping for gifts that don't know what a bad deal is.

Awesome deal on this used #4 BD hex. Only $26 after shipping. Thing retails for $14, can find new on sale for $10 pretty easily.

"I have some amazing climbing gear I just never have the time to use it I have diamond quick draws, pretzel harness I forget the rope brand but it's from REI and it's top-of-the-line nature to get the best, selling everything as a whole unit everything seen in photos. This gear is flawless and top-of-the-line. This set up is perfect for anyone wanting to start out and have everything they need to go climb right now. Call text or email asking for $420"

How about this fantastic deal? on ebay, not craigslist.

love how I can no longer link to ebay because REI - I mean MP - sees it as a competitor for the shitty old used gear market.  I'd like to think that the folks running this site can predict what their petty policies will beget.... but I doubt it.

Anyway, here's a great price on a rare and valuable piece of history.  head on over to ebay for the real deals

My offer:

I'll give you $100 cash for it.  I know that sounds like a super low ball offer but most of it is either so old it needs to be trashed (harness, slings, etc), or is so old that they are essentially obsolete (cams, stoppers, hexes, etc).

Let me know,
Mike

You're either a shitbag trying to shark a Gumby or you're a fucking moron. Either way get your weak ass 100 dollar rip off shit out of here. Unbelievable to run into such shittyness in the climbing community.

I'll chock it up to you being a fucking moron rather than malicious.

Get a fucking clue how to climb.

Yea well you lowballed him... what did you expect

I'd pay $120 for the BD cams and the Gri Gri 1. That's still probably a bit of a low ball. Most of the rest belongs in a museum.

This rope has been on craigslist for over six months! the best part is that they repost it regularly, without adjusting the price...

Definitely a lowball, but his prices are hilarious! He has the well used #3 camalot priced at $50?? And the used pink tricam for $20! Haha, the best is the well used grigri 1, which he claims is a grigri 2 and is asking $85 for.

Yeah, that is ridiculous - backcountry has spanking new #3 for 56.21 USD.

I am a prince of the former king of Uganda and I would GLADLY pay such a price for such fine equipment if only someone would send me $500 so that I can hire an attorney to prove my heritage and help me reclaim the $5Billion I should have rightfully inherited!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
