Here is one way to fund a climbing trip: |

You guys are idiots. Grappling hooks allow you to pull along side another sailing vessel, cast it into their rigging and pull their vessel along side yours so you can board, rape and pillage. Super useful. |

Jacob Smith wrote:http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/spo/4912089734.html Paring down from what? Regarding the sports climbing nets, that one has been popping up on the Seattle craigslist page for years, makes me laugh every time. Those math skills too. 20 biners, at $3 each, for $40. Also, only selling as a set. None of you "I only need 5 biners" climbers. This is serious. |

Ben Beckerich wrote:I'm just trying to picture an application for grappling hooks outside of a pure do-or-die combat situation. You throw the thing up, it catches -something-, doesn't pull down when you yank on it. "OK boys! This rope is bomber! Start trusting your very lives that the hook will hold and won't drop you to your death, then crush your lifeless face when it lands on your corpse. Huphup!"the only genuine application i've seen for grappling hooks is in canyoneering and caving. sometimes when you rap down a hole there's a big pool of water beneath you with no ledges to climb up, and a ledge leading to the rest of the cave or canyon you need to pull yourself over to. toss the grappling hook with some cordage attached and try to hook something, and pull. using a grappling hook as an anchor like most people imagine is, as you would expect, a terrible idea. |

Not a craigslist deal, but I figured someone wouldn't want to pass up this deal at Campsaver!!! Math schmath. :D |

Tony B wrote:$500/ea for "buy it now" ropes on Ebay. WTF. I suppose that they are relying on people shopping for gifts that don't know what a bad deal is.Guess all you need is just one sucker for a payday. |

This gear is flawless and top-of-the-line. This set up is perfect for anyone wanting to start out and have everything they need to go climb right now. Call text or email asking for $420" Hahahaha |

How about this fantastic deal? on ebay, not craigslist. |
|
love how I can no longer link to ebay because REI - I mean MP - sees it as a competitor for the shitty old used gear market. I'd like to think that the folks running this site can predict what their petty policies will beget.... but I doubt it. |

Brassmonkey wrote: https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/spo/d/full-trad-climbing-rack-650/6632456264.html I'd pay $120 for the BD cams and the Gri Gri 1. That's still probably a bit of a low ball. Most of the rest belongs in a museum. |

This rope has been on craigslist for over six months! the best part is that they repost it regularly, without adjusting the price... |

Brassmonkey wrote: https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/spo/d/full-trad-climbing-rack-650/6632456264.html Definitely a lowball, but his prices are hilarious! He has the well used #3 camalot priced at $50?? And the used pink tricam for $20! Haha, the best is the well used grigri 1, which he claims is a grigri 2 and is asking $85 for. |

Peter J wrote: Yeah, that is ridiculous - backcountry has spanking new #3 for 56.21 USD. |

I am a prince of the former king of Uganda and I would GLADLY pay such a price for such fine equipment if only someone would send me $500 so that I can hire an attorney to prove my heritage and help me reclaim the $5Billion I should have rightfully inherited! |
