Valentine's Day 2016 @ Point Dume. It was a great day!

Covid protocols ongoing, now plus smokey air from state-wide wildfires (none nearby). Better air today. AQI of 50 in morning, steadily up to 62 by mid-day, despite look of typical nice Malibu beach day. Still, much better than inland areas.

There are a couple boulders in the area that you can climb, though the routes are pretty short and easy.

The trail to the top of the wall, at Point Dume, travels through delicate cliff-side habitat. This area enjoys the State Park's highest level of protection. Please stay on the trail and observe all posted signs.

One more shot of a lead bolt at Point Dume: as visible in this photo, most of the mass of the buttonhead has been eliminated by corrosion. There is very little material actually holding the hanger to the wall.

Locals get to park at the best spot inside the VIP area cordoned off by orange cones. All others have to park farther away, with the riffraff. Just the way it is.
