Lost: Two quickdraws taken from Eldo's Captain Crunch during re-bolting community work

I have been working on re-bolting the four lead bolts on Captain Crunch over the last month - like for like upgrades. Please note I hold a signed permit from Eldorado Canyon State Park staff to do this work.

I left two draws on the route Saturday night as I ran out of time to finish the last bolt. I returned Sunday afternoon to find the draws missing.

I realize it's my fault for not leaving a note but the circumstances were beyond my control.

I am not mad and bear no ill will to whoever took them. Please, email me and we can go from there.

Note, I bumped into Boulder County rescue who saw the draws on the route at 9:45 AM this morning and noted a party coming in from above. When they returned an hour and a half later the draws were gone.

The Petzl quickdraws that were taken look exactly like these below.

Whoever bootied Joe's draws, how about un-booty'ing them and hooking your brother back up with his gear? He puts hours and hours of his free time into bettering the climbing community and your climbing experience.

I like booty... But "coming in from above..."

Sack up and lead it weak booty snatchers!

If you don't want to email me or have any contanct then put them in a bag labeled "Joseph Crotty" and drop them off at the Eldo kiosk or visitor's center. Tell the person there you found them on a route called Captain Crunch which was being re-bolted by Joe and belong to him. I'll drop by and pick them up from the kiosk in a few days.

Odds are that sort of person is not reading this post, but I hope you get your draws back.

If you don't, please let me know. I'll buy you a few new ones, so at least the guy doing all the work to maintain the crag isn't taking the hit.

Thanks again for your hard work.

I'm glad to pitch in for replacements too, if the culprits don't return your gear.
I'm still gratefully hanging on your new draws at Primo. Thanks!

Gear has not turned up at Eldo Park offices nor has anyone been forthcoming. I pray the gear serves those who hands it fell into well for many years and brings them much joy and safe climbing!

ACE will likely pick up the tab to replace the miss placed equipment.

Thank you to all that chimed in with kind comments in this thread.

The total cost of equipment misplaced was ~$60 (i.e., $30/quick draw). You can donate to ACE here via Paypal.

I've got one of them covered. Anybody else care to donate and cover the second?

PS Thanks again for all your efforts, much appreciated!

Mark, thank you so much!

Here is another example of ACE doing recent maintenance work on existing fixed hardware.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
