Mythos length stretch

Hey everyone,

There are a few threads on here about how much Mythos stretch, but I wasn't able to find anything specifically on how much they will stretch length-wise.

I normally wear a 44 street shoe. I tried on a 42.5 which felt pretty good, so I'm assuming it would be far too loose once they stretch. The 42 was very snug but not too uncomfortable, and the 41.5 was very tight width-wise and my toes were smashed. I'm looking at these as a comfortable, all-day shoe, obviously. I know they'll stretch, but I wanted to see what people's experience with length-wise stretch is specifically. Thanks for any info.

They stretch quite a bit. Mine started out rather tight, and now they are looser than a wet noodle. I would have gone smaller initially, except any smaller and I would probably have lost circulation in my toes.

For reference, I wear a 47 street size in La Sportiva approach shoes, a 44 in Katanas, and a 43.5 Mythos - which couldn't fit better (the Katanas, on the other hand, are a little too snug).

They've proven to be the most comfortable shoes I've ever had, and stretched significantly in width and length, rather quickly (within 3 or 4 days out). Hope you get some good shoes to crush some rock!

I have owned my this spanning 3 full sizes, from as tight as I could tolerate to flat footed and comfortable. After wearing them they all feel pretty much the same. The stretch is basically proportional to how tight they are in the first place.

I wear a 9.5 street shoe (42.5) and my Myths are 39.5 (size 7) which are initially tight and uncomfortable, but quickly stretch to provide a comfortable fit. I've never tried to squeeze into a pair of Mythos downsized 3 sizes.

Thanks for the replies. Good to know that the stretch is length-wise as well as width. I went with a 42 -- they are on sale right now on backcountry. Thanks again!

I felt that my only pair of mythos stretched at least 2 sizes from a Snug fit to being a little too sloppy. Consider the Tenaya Masai. excellent shoe.

Same here. I just recently bought a pair of 43's and just got them broke in after about 7 days of climbing. They're good and tight in length and width. They're my 2nd pair of rock climbing shoes and 2nd La Sportiva's. The first pair was the Nago. I haven't felt any adamant stretching from the Mythos. Worn just as firm as the Nago's. They feel just as good and tight & wearable as when I tried them on. I guess it ultimately comes down to how darn tight you like your shoes and how much that helps you. Only been climbing for little more than a year. The first pair of shoes I ever wore, I couldn't feel my feet 3/4's up the first pitch. My Mythos are about ready to come off at the end of the day at the crag without any bad pain or feel like toes are in a vice and work great for me and where I'm at in climbing skill. (5.11b/c)

Weird.

I wear a 44.5 - 45.5 street shoe (depending on brand). But typically 44.5. I went with my Mythos in size 44. And they're pretty good. I've had them for a month now and climb for 2-3 hours at a time, 3 days a week. So I have about 36 hours in them and I haven't noticed any stretching.

Mine stretched about from a very snug fit to a molded comfortable fit. I sized them 2 full european sizes down from my other sportivas.

Length stretches quite a bit. The longer you wear them the longer they get. Mine started snug with slight toe curl. Now (2 yrs later) I can basically take a hike in them, there's some open space after my toes.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
