Vacation plans made, partner selected, yet events occur and you find yourself without a partner. My wife Barbara and I are living at Smith Rock State Park and volunteering at the visitor center Thur-Sun. We have been climbing only 3 years but have a lot of diverse experience. My wife Barbara needs a better partner. I am on old fat guy that climbs up to 5.7, but she needs to experience harder/better climbs. She will lead up to 5.7 and will follow 5.8-5.9, maybe 5.10. She catches my 210 pounds without a problem. We have a light trad rack, 3 60m ropes and lots of knowledge about Smith Rock. She has done Monkey Face and would love to try "Wherever I may Roam". Check us out at the visitor center or send a PM.

it starts heating up in May but it's easy to chase shade around the park
Cool in the morning, around 40, highs in the low 70's. As mentioned, when it starts to warm up more there are shady routes. The folks from Sweden that where in the visitor center yesterday morning thought it was chilly.
