Driving and approach beta for washer woman?

What I'm reading here says it's quite involved and time consuming to just get near the towers. Any insight or past experiences would be appreciated. Probably driving a Subaru to get there

it took us 1.5 hours from the turnoff onto the shafer trail to get to washer woman, ie 2 hours from moab. the white rim is a rough 4wd road. subaru NOT recommended. its not complicated though. and the hike up to the towers isn't too bad either by desert tower talus cone standards.
