Los Alamos Mountaineering Climbing School at El Rito Saturday, May 2nd (Trad area).
About 40 climbers. If you want peace and quiet, you might want to try somewhere else on Saturday.
There are peregrine falcons nesting between El Faralito and Packrat Dihedral, please avoid the nest.
Thanks,
ron

I'm interested to hear Ron's opinion. In my opinion it was surprisingly quiet and a non-issue for both birds and climbers. The area where they're at now is is right of center on the wall and not near any of the "good climbs". Everyone was able to give a wide berth, still climb and not intrude. One bird flew out around the cliff a couple times with some minor screeching and then disappeared and that was it.

It's a privilege to be able to self-police here and I feel the community is a doing a fine job allowing for both nesting and climbing to take place on the wall simultaneously.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
