Info on the lost cove cliffs of NC

I'm having trouble finding route info for little lost cove cliffs and big lost cove cliffs. Anyone know of a guide book that covers the area? Any first hand knowledge would also be helpful.

I don't think those have ever been in a guide. Your best best is a Boone local who can fill you in. Maybe check at Footsloggers and see if they can help?

Yep, no guidebook for those areas. Little Lost offers some great top-roping opportunities, and there are a few leadable lines as well. Big Lost actually has quite a bit of routes. I've always just ventured down there and figured out things for myself. Both areas also have great camping right off the approach trails.

I've gotten frustrated before trying to figure things out down there but that's half the fun!

I'm assuming those are the cliffs you can see at the Lost Cove bouldering area? I've always wondered about those.

After googling a little bit I found a picture of this 5.8, The Great Arete. This looks like a ton of fun:

Yeah the big arete is mega classic, but not something a 5.8 climber wants to get on

Is it runout? Tricky gear? I'd like to get up there and explore sometime for sure.

Its nc trad haha, so yeah a little runout and sandbagged. there aren't any real easy routes there worth doing

Everything turns into a top rope if you climb it first

Lots of easy toprope potential at little lost cove. Not so much at BLC, everything is longer/trickier to access.
