GEAR STOLEN: Break-in in the Bay Area

My car was broken into last night in Oakland, CA. Had everything in the car for under 2 hours while I visited a friend. I'm not even sure where this stuff would show up (Craigslist maybe?) because likely whoever took it has no idea what it is.

• .4-4 Camalots
• Full set of Omega Pacific nuts
• Patagonia Ascensionist 35l pack
• Gregory Baltoro 75 pack
• OR Alpine bivy
• Lots of biners, slings, harness, shoes, etc.
• Misc. non-climbing/backpacking items

Kinda a long shot as this stuff will probably show up outside the climbing community, but would really, really, really appreciate if anyone hears anything.

This seems like the right place for this, but would it be appropriate to cross-post in the Northern California board?

Hey Bryan -

Man that's just awful, sorry to hear it. What neighborhood did it happen in? I ask because a few weeks ago someone in my neighborhood found two bags of climbing gear that had been discarded in a bush. They posted about it on a local neighborhood listserv, and I believe got it back to the owners.

If you let us know the location of the break in, we could maybe help ply the local listservs/community boards.

Hi Sirius,

I guess it would be Adams Point (it happened right around Grand/Euclid, just north of the lake).

Yeah, anything you know about working with the listservs would be extremely helpful. Feel free to message me. Thanks.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
