Anyone? This was gear I had lent those guys for the trip and the haul bag has my number on it as well, so you could always call me or just drop it off at Desert Rock and I'll get Jorge or Joanne pick it up. Thanks.

If it was Joshua Tree, I'd know a tweaker on a bmx bike you could buy it back from for $40.

All kidding aside, good luck - hope it makes it back to you.

Ben,

I hope you get your gear back. How did you lose it? (I'm sure others are curious, too).

Perhaps they pulled it out of vehicle, set it to the side, got distracted, jumped back in, and drove off.

Hope ya get yer stuff back.

Thanks. Yeah, I believe it was something along those lines. Shit can happen when you're tired.

feeling the pain… I had my whole rack stolen once. It was a day too where I had everything, even the extra stuff that I often don't carry, but some friends talked me into taking a couple of noobs out and lost it all…. on a brighter note however, I was able to make a claim on my home owners insurance and for only the deductible I ended up getting EVERYTHING replaced (even the old tat static line that was in need of dire retirement) and all in all, the whole thing turned out to be one of the best things to EVER happen to me. The insurance companies have no clue what a cam, fifi hook, or nut tool is which, at the time really pushed the balances to my favor.

May good karma find you!

Remarkably, and four months later, it appears someone has stumbled upon the bag and delivered it up to Desert Rocks. Amazing. Gotta figure out a bounty for the folks who found it.

Even weirder: the guys who found it did so when they were the last ones out at the second turnout and found the bag just leaning against the restroom - someone had found it after four months of it laying out there somewhere, hiked it out to the road, and then just left it where the guys who called my number on the side of the bag found it.

Had hoped to hear where it was left and how the folks who found it stumbled upon it if it was so out-of-the-way that it could sit there for four months. Probably never find out now...

It's definitely not that so I can't account for it at all. I'd love to know why whomever found it was in the place to find it given it was a bright orange haul bag that sat there for four months so it most have been somewhere pretty off the beaten trail and out of the way. So what were they doing there? Off doing some remote and never done climb or were they as lost as the person that left it there? Maybe the person that hauled it out will eventually turn up. Thanks to whoever it was.

I'll buy everything, with an outrageous discount.

Glad you got your gear back. I've had a back pack full of gear go missing. Trad gear and quickdraws included.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
