Must be from the south cause it sounds like you ain't never seen snow. Snow normally looks white. Later, in the summer it turns green and red - we call that watermelon snow. But don't eat it or the yellow snow.

Yes, but there will be snow and ice on all aspects of the mountain.

Usually neve. Slushy in the afternoon with chance for wet slides. Early start mandatory.
Could be on snow/ice/styrofoam all the way to the summit. Super fun. Easy cruisin' with a pair of ice tools and crampons.
Safe? Depends if you got the skills. If you're looking for dry rock and no snow on the approach? Not in late May. Maybe not in mid June. Some years not in Mid July.
I would say keep an on the blogspot for the Tetons put out by the climbing ranger as noted above. If you are confident with an ice axe for travel and do your research south facing route like the exum, petzl ridge, symmetry spites south ridges as well as guides route will be good choices. It's also a great time to do moderate snow routes like say the east faces of teewinot, and buck standard route up the middle. Avoid north face rock routes and look for something that is in.
