I will be spending a week in the City this June. I am not man enough to climb every day. What should I do with my days off? So far I have found the Springs in Malta and some mountain biking several hours away (pocatello, twin falls). Any other ideas?

you could ride your bike in the Salt River Range - take the turn (clear creek i think) in Naf.

The hot springs are in Almo.

Those are new … for many many years there have been hot springs over Oakley (not Malta).

As for what to do Dave gave some good ideas on hiking and biking. Also it is worth checking out some of Oregon trail history. Though the best features are on private land.

We were in Durfee Hot Springs about a mile north of Tracy store last night. Today is a down day so we are driving into Twin Falls to get groceries for the next week.

You could bike the auto tour: City of Rocks Auto Tour

Or do the Backcountry Byway: Backcountry Byway

Or go retro, build a nice fire to sit around and read a book.

Depending on how far you want to drive, there's Craters of the Moon National Monument about 3 hrs away:
nps.gov/crmo/index.htm

And if you're willing to drive 3 hrs, that puts you in range of both Boise and Salt Lake City - but 6+ hrs of driving is a long rest day and not too restful.

A little closer (2.5 hrs) is the Golden Spike National Historic Site on the north end of the Great Salt Lake. You can also view the Spiral Jetty on that trip since to get to the Jetty you go through the national site. Ask for directions at the Visitor Center:
nps.gov/gosp/index.htm

From Golden Spike it will take about 30-40 minutes to reach the Jetty. A high clearance vehicle is only needed for the final 100+ yards, depending on the condition of the road, so many people walk that.

No need to go all the way to Twin Falls just for groceries - Burley has adequate supermarkets.

+1
+ to complete the back half of the backcountry by-way
+ to see the falls
+ have a nice dinner at Elevation 486.

Now if the snow will hurry up and melt we can go climb.

Thanks for all the awesome suggestions. Day Drinking, shooting guns on the scenic by-way and cow tipping will make for an interesting rest day. If I don't end up in jail I should be able to "send sick" the following day.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
