Long anchor setup?
When setting up top rope anchors using trees. What the best option to span the distance to the edge? Say 20 feet. |
static rope. |
Any good sources to buy it by the foot? |
Your local climbing shop or I know some sports chalet's stock rolls of Sterling static rope that you can buy by the foot |
I use 8mm cord, available by the foot in pretty colors in most climbing shops. 9mm also works and would undoubtedly last longer. |

If you want to go cheaper, 1' climbing webbing is fine, just harder to untie. rockandsnow.com/73021/1%22-… backcountry.com/sterling-te… |

Amazon. New England rope. 30' for like 15$. 30$ you should have plenty. |

Retired climbing rope. |
You want something static as anything dynamic like climbing rope will lead to rubbing and wear. |

Here is my normal setup for extending an anchor over an edge from a far position. |
