Bouldering guide to Utah
|
I'm heading to Utah to boulder in a couple weeks. Does anyone want to lend me their guidebook? |
|
I'll sell you mine for $16,000.00. |
|
I'm in the same boat as Kevin F. |
|
Lemme know what areas you're interested in and I'll scan them up for you. |
|
Joe's Valley and Big Bend, please! If you live anywhere near the I-15 I will hand deliver Wonderbars and pickle chips. If not, I can at least mail you some Wonderbars. |

I live in Moab and know Big Bend pretty well. I'd love to Boulder with you just PM me when you get here. I am available evenings and weekends. There is a guide for Joes specifically it's not the most accurate but will get you around and has enough info to keep you busy. It looks like it's unavailable on line but there are 2 gear store here in town that carry it. joesvalleyguidebook.com/ |

You can also stop at local libraries in the SLC area and make copies of the areas that you are interested in. This is a bit old school though. Maybe take pics with your smartphone? |

Rob T wrote:Wow, Abe has an awesome (and usually relatively cheap) selection of rare books. I have 2 copies, wonder if they'd trade me for a copy of Mont Blanc and the Aiguilles Rouges. Doh, just checked, no copies right now. Brian, you've got a pretty good library, do you have that one? Wanna trade for a spare copy of the Good Book ;)Your Mont Blanc is a ski book, no? Don't have that one. I do have both copies of the Black Bible, though. The first issue and the re-issue. Too fun. |

Brian, if there is this much mula for da books, we should all quits our jobs and create the Utah Climbing Encyclopedia! We could get Berto and the womens, and make it a 26 volume britanica! |
|
Make an offer for my black bible if you like. |

The Black Diamond store in SLC has a store copy of Bouldering Guide to Utah that you can go in and take a look at. Obviously cant take it with you but it could be helpful to get some beta off of. |

Great info. Thanks very much. |

FWIW Karl Kelly's High on Moab has a Big Bend section. I believe it's the only thing currently in print with BB info. |

I found a pristine copy at my local gym a while back. I don't think they knew what they had. I just said, "give me that". It was all a bit hazy after that It was all like a dream. About a month later I'm in Utah with the guide. I go to take it out and think, what the hell am I doing? It could get ruined. Friend asks if he can look at it: hell no. I'll never use this thing, it's worth too much. So I burned it.. |
