Anyone have experience with these? I think am going to buy a pair for Denali, for use over my Baruntse boots.

Anyone have any input on the K2 Superlight vs. the Purple Haze? Are the zippers high quality or should I go with the velcro?

Call them. If you give them the make, model, size, and year your boot was made they'll tell you exactly what over boot will work best.

I emailed them and they basically told me either model will work fine with my boots, I am just having trouble deciding which one to get. Not sure if I will ever use these things again after Denali.

I haven't used the K2, but my climbing partner and I both used the Purple Haze overboots on an April Denali trip. We thought they were great, and were very impressed with the quality. The zippers are burly. I've had overboots with velcro and I like zipper much more.

40 Below is an excellent company. Great product and customer service.

I rocked the Baruntse + Purple Haze combo on a successful Denali trip a couple years ago. Only put the overboots on for summit day, but they worked great.

That said, they've done nothing but sit in a box since.

What size are your Baruntses? I might be willing to lend them out for a small, beer-shaped fee.

Sorry to bring up this dead post.... Which crampons did you use? We are going up the west rib and I don't want to have issues fitting them with an overboot on. I have a pair of Lynx - which can be configured as either option.... but i'd rather bring my G-12s. They are New-Matic config.... will this work with an overboot? Thanks for the help! :)

i used grivel g12 strap front, bail heel (newmatic?) and the purple haze overboots on my baruntses when i did denali. i only wore the over boots on summit day but that combination worked great. crampons didnt slip off or anything.
