Raining today, will it be safe to climb tomorrow?

No!!! If you do, be sure to go to Wall Street and leave your car door open and belay over the white line.

Probably not as it rained pretty hard and long last night. Give it a couple of days depending on the weather today. The sandy sections of the mtnbike trails should be great, go biking instead.

Give it till at least...AT LEAST Sunday, even if you see others climbing the rock will not be dry nor safe.

The same goes for the Creek as the webcam makes it look pretty bad.

Give it a few days to dry out, especially if it's overcast. Fortunately that is the spectacular aspect of Moab: there is a lifetime of amazing hiking and bikng trails to explore on your days off.

There's a webcam in the Creek? Got a link?

Sean yeah, check out cnha.org/webcam.cfm

Sometimes the feed updates often, others...not so much...for some reason the 6 shooter peak feed seems to update maybe at the end of the day. However the Abajo Peak Webcam i.e. (the big peak you see to the S while driving in) is usually updated quite a bit. An obvi the island in the sky webcam is broken as the date reads Mar 28.

Travis

Edit: Also to clarify when I checked it yesterday it was pretty gloomy by the six-shooter webcam standards, hence why I made the comment, all in all just make sure you check the report date at the top left to make sure your data is real time or not.

It looks like the six shooter web cam image is from yesterday. The abajos cam is from this morning and it's a whiteout.

It's never a bad time to be reminded of this simple truth:

“To gain any lasting worth from what the desert has to offer, we had to learn to put our pitons and ropes away and go exploring in silence, keeping our eyes very open. It wasn’t easy. We wasted a lot of time climbing until we got the knack.”

Good input thanks, we also stopped in town and talked with folks at the climbing stores. They said at least 24 hours of sun, and the sun does not shine at night. Sigh, it is our last day here for this year.

It was nice to see the fresh snow on the rim though. And the clouds lurking on the edge are pretty cool also.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
