Where is Dixie Reality?

I started at Hanging Chain and bushwhacked what felt like almost all the way to Shumont... I ended up at Tower of Power, and at that point had no clue where to go, not knowing if I hadn't gone far enough, or if I had gone too far. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Cheers!

That route is really just a tease. It's essentially inaccessible from the normal parking area. I haven't been there myself, but I can tell you that it's way up on the ridge and everyone I know that went there always drove in from the top (which you cannot do now).

I will search for my aerial photos and draw a map along with a written description. I agree it would be rough from normal parking area. But is it worth it? Heck yes!

Thanks, Sean! That would be awesome.

I always approached via Eagle Rock on the North Side. I had a deal with previous owners since we were working together to help build the park. Being able to drive certainly made approach easier, but it is a lovely hike. At gate at end of Shumont Mt. Church Road, hike up the 4WD road. Be sure to stop at Eagle Rock on the left for stunning views of the north side of the bald which has hundreds of established pitches, currently closed by park management. Keep hiking uphill to near the summit of Shumont. This view is also worth a short side trip. Road then goes downhill. There is a short slick rock section. At bottom of this section look for a road cutting back hard right. Take this turn. Follow it downhill. You are now on southside of ridge. See photo. At end of road there is a small creek. A faint trail continues a short distance to a ridgecrest. Cut down the ridge until it is easier to drop into the broad drainage below Shumont. Cross the drainage and crest the next ridge. At the ridgecrest turn left and go until your jaw drops when you see the giant roof. Climb it then maybe blaze a trail to Hanging Chain and perhaps an easier future approach.

Ahh finally! Thank Sean, Myself, I was walking to close to left field to be able to find it.

Side question: anyone find "mother of all roof cracks", near-ish the cereal buttress yet too?

Thanks so much Sean! That is super helpful...

What is this roof crack near Cereal Buttress you speak of...?

If I'm not mistaken, I believe "Mother of All Roof Cracks" is in the new guide.

Either coming in from the top or the Rumbling Bald parking lot will involve "scoffing" at a few property lines and possibly a lawyer or two..

Speaking of lawyers....the advice in a previous post concerning entry from the top is technically accurate but grossly misleading. Its way more fun than the description implies.

Now, in regards to you fellers out there wanderin' round in the woods searchin' for a new "Reality" from the bottom up, well, yall' just give up too damn easy.

There is some untouched rock, a multiple tiered waterfall and steeply rugged untrodden terrain waiting on you. Now go get you some.

Say HI! to the bears for me...

Found it in the new guide.  Worth visiting?  Any pics to share of it or additional beta on how to get there?  The directions in the guide seem interesting...

Does anyone have the coordinates for the route? My best guess from comparing some MP pics to google earth is around 35°27'46"N 82°14'44"W. I'm interested in checking it out this fall if I can find it.
