And to Mike from Indianapolis - WOW - just WOW! Brand New shoes - in the boxes no less. How very generous of you!!! A half size bigger and I'd climb in them myself :)

Chris are you still looking for stuff? I have some old shoes, and can reach out to my crew if so.

We can always use them. Most of what people give us are already pretty worn and then young brand new climbers who walk around in them all night and drag their feet as they climb finish them off fairly quickly. Thank you!

I've got some shoes in great condition that don't fit anymore after I had toe surgery. I'll get them in the mail soon. I'm excited that they'll be going to a great cause!

No name on the box but a couple pair of shoes from Holladay - Utah arrived today. Thank You - it will make for some happy kids! Since the kids are now climbing in climbing shoes instead of tennies we are seeing them climbing so much better - one "problem" is I now have to actually set harder routes for them - what a fun problem to have! Again Thanks!

Box was mashed and contained 2 pairs of shoes and had been resealed by the PO - hope there weren't more supposed to be in there?

Do you have an updated list of needs?

We can always use more shoes as the kids are starting to actually wear out some of the of ones that were more worn out to start with. Little kid sizes are scarce and we have been having quite a few kids under 5 years old coming lately. I contacted several of the Climbing shoe and equipment etc companies and asked for (and received) stickers (many Thanks to all of them of course). Now when any kid under 5 years old makes it to the top they get to choose and put a sticker on the wall showing their height - it will be fun for them a few years from now to come back and see them. We're raising money for more holds right now so if anyone has holds they no longer need we could use them as well. Our "needs" are few but the "wants" are bigger of course. Old hard goods like biners the kids like - don't need them but they have fun clipping and unclipping ropes etc - a couple of them clip smoother than I do :).

Some of the older kids are venturing outside with a few local adult couples so harnesses, chalk bags, belay plates etc could help them get started without spending a lot of money - pretty much any of the very basic stuff. I already have a sign out sheet where they can check out a pair of shoes for the weekend if some adult is taking them outside - I could do the same with harnesses etc. The climbing community has truly been wonderful in their response to these kids and it truly is appreciated by us all.

That's so awesome to hear about. If you haven't already, try to get into contact with a resole service and tell them about what you do. If you tell them it's for underprivileged youth, they very well may give y'all a discount.

I didn't think of that - thank you!

This thread has a list of most of the resole services in the US seperated by state. It's not comprehensive, though, cause I know there are some cobblers in NC and WV that aren't listed

Thank You - saves me from looking them all up.
