I am looking for somebody to climb the Grand with this summer. Due to living in the Midwest (not a lot of places to climb)and the cost of making climbing trips out west I am not comfortable leading. I have been climbing for 29 years and have successfully climbed Denali, Mt. Hood, Half Dome, and Walk on the Wild Side in Joshua Tree to name a few. My phone is 260-609-5383. Texting is usually the best way to get a hold of me. I REALLY hope somebody will be willing to climb with me. I am willing to pay you for leading. Thank you.

I looked at Exum. They want $1,200 for a guided one-one-one climb with a guide. Insulting! I'm sort of surprised the NPS allows them to price gouge like that.

$1200? thats nuts

Yup, unfortunately. And if there's inclement weather on your summit day and it's cancelled, then you're out of luck. They don't give you another chance the next day and you're out $1,500 bucks.

That is nuts. Unfortunately with the NP system, only a few liscenced guides are allowed in the parks and there is no competition so prices are high. But OTOH, paying some random internet stranger to guide you up the thing when you know nothing about their ability and credentials seems kind of nut to me too. Not to mention illegal. Hope it works out well for you and you find a competent partner/guide.

And half that if you go in a group. From the Exum site:
1 climber (only applies if we are unable to match you with others) – $770
2 or more climbers – $600 each

If you have emailed me regarding this, please text or call me, 260-609-5383. For some reason my reply messages aren't getting sent out. Thanks! -Eric
