Bouldering?

Thanks for the updates! Depending on whether we can get down the Blair road, we may opt to go to the Horse farm and hit Round Pond and Trailside instead. I'll report back.

Just checked with a co work that lives over by Blair Woods and Boat Launch road is not cleared and not accessible by car.

Shoveled tops this week in central vt, south facing boulders with good sun were dry until today. The rain should help clear some tops.

While that's true, there's a small section at the beginning of the road that is plowed, so you can park off the street and walk down the road.

Any update on the road into blair? I was down there last Tuesday and could drive 3/4 of the way down but then too much snow. Anyone know if it is passable yet?

Southern RI is good to go. I was out at the Lost Boulder in Arcadia yesterday and the knee deep snow I was punching through two weeks ago is completely gone and the boulder is dry. Rubber boots still recommended for run-off on the approach if you have 'em. Get on it before the bugs and sticky weather come.

Drove it yesterday, kinda sketchy bottoming out on snow a bit but it's drivable. Higher clearance the better.

Wouldn't it trash the road driving it in those conditions? I would think you would want to let it dry up.

I was going to go to that Boston Boulder Brawl comp this weekend but now the weather at Pway is looking perfect for Sunday. 58, sunny and windy Saturday to dry things out and 64 and sunny Sunday. Whats the snow/mud situation like? Should we still avoid Boulder Natural?

Does anyone have any updates on the road to Blair?

Yes I went yesterday and I made it all the way to the boat launch parking with my Subaru. There was a 2WD Corolla that made it in that I saw as well. It wasn't terrible, but it was bad in some parts. I think its going to keep getting worse before it gets better unfortunately. A lot of the parts weren't bad because there was still very thick ice I could put my tires on instead of the mud. As I was driving out, some of the ice had already started softening up and it was a bit worse on the way out.

Round Pond/Horse Farm was fine. As far as hiking there was a ton of snow in Blair Woods, mud wasn't bad. Landings were mostly good, some snow under the boulders but pads were fine on top of it. Most climbs were dry, I think the only wet boulder I saw was the rainforest boulder. Didn't see a single bit of snow/ice on top of any of the boulders in either spot.

I did not go to boulder natural so no update there.

I was at Blair Woods yesterday 4/13, the drive in was good real low cars will struggle but I saw many mini vans and cars at the boat launch parking lot. the loop was pretty dry except for the rainforest boulder area. Every boulder besides the Swirly Boulder could have been climbed on. Pretty good to go out there now!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
