Advanced Search Criteria, Searchable Through Map

I am thinking of relocating and looking at climbing areas on the map. Would be really great if I could enter search parameters and see those all at once so I could figure drive times. This would give me a better picture of what living in that community were like.

My situation:
What are ice routes in proximity of Grand Junction, CO?
What are 5.2-5.10 climbs in proximity of Grand Junction, CO?

I could be missing something here, but it seems the map view is deceiving, especially when you consider someone may not like a particular type of climbing. Like maybe I want to filter out sport or boulder routes, but still see them on a map. Also the list view sorted by area becomes quite arduous to cross reference location data and get a picture for how close these spots are.

Thoughts?

I had seen that 'classic's map' feature previously. Anything in the works for what I suggested? It could be a super-powerful feature!
