Description Suggest change

Bouldering that is most easily accessed by hiking along the Fire Road between the South Shore Road and Great Chimney.

(The Fire Road is labelled as a "Rescue Road" on current DNR maps.)

Getting There Suggest change

There are two common ways to approach this general area:

  1. Park along South Shore Road, between Ski Hi Road and the top of the hill.  There is ample parking at the junction of Ski Hi and South Shore, but be careful walking along the side of the road - drivers really zip through here.  You can also park closer to the Fire Road (at the top of the hill) on the east side of the road, but pay attention to the No Parking signs (hidden behind the Trucks Entering caution sign), watch out for the ditch, and be sure to get your vehicle completely off the road.
  2. Park at the southwest (boat ramp) parking area and hike up the West Bluff trail until you meet the Fire Road.
