Looking down north face of Emma and the ski line from the summit. At 630am on a windy, 5degree morn it was a steep sheet of sheer granular ice and soft windslab pockets. Being north-facing, late morning would nail it in the spring.

Looking up Gilpin's south face couloir. This has been skied by PI at a minimum, "Chapelle Couloir". On this day in early April, the snow was peppered full of rocks that had fallen, which would have made skiing it almost impossible.
