Ok, so I'm beginning to have a problem with storage for my gear and toys. I've thought about building a small shed 10x10 maybe or something similar to keep everything in the same area. I live in northern Minnesota, so temps fluctuate. I plan to store practically all Cycling, mountain biking, climbing, kayaking, and camping gear in the shed (of course locked). I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with storage of gear in a shed? Recommend? Or complete dumb idea?

Most likely rust, corrosion and mold will be coming to visit if your shed is unheated and at all unsealed. I have been there.

I have wire racks inside I really like. You see everything; it's kind of organized ;-) Except when the rack ends up on the floor. Soft goods go in plastic bins.

Gear Wire rack in pretty dis-organized condition at the moment.

My mountain bikes and snowboards stay in a garage since rust and mold aren't an issue. My climbing gear stays in the house. I use command hooks and hung all of my gear on a wall. The rope stays in a spare closet.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
