Many greetings and salutations! Hello, aloha, salut, hola, salam, tere, jambo and so on and so forth!

I write from Wyoming, a land with many wonderful rocks and flash opportunities. Also where men are hard and the wildlife nervous.

I’ve been spending the winter training for flash season and very much look forward to implementing 4 plan! In the meantime I’ve been working out with many fishheads, cheesesteaks, and water work outs.

Your suggestion of lifting heavy stones while supine in cold mountain stream in sets of 100 is very dangerous. As I was on 95 or 96, the stones became too heavy and I was almost drowned by their immovable weight. Luckily, I was able to refresh my forearms in time and move the blocks enough to escape. Next day I made a spectacular revision to the plan. Instead I do push ups in cold mountain stream with heavy oak logs on my back. If I become pumped the logs should float off preventing drowning. The most important benefit of push ups is I can bob for trout while working out, eliminating the trip to the market for fishheads. Additionally, the cold water keeps me no more than half erect, allowing focus on workout.

Also can you recommend a breath mint? My new diet has my wife concerned about my breath. Perhaps eliminating the onions from the cheesesteaks?

Spectacular writings you have on the forum of internet!

I very much like your pushups in cold mountain stream. Perhaps you may get your wife to sit on your back, or a climbing girlfriend? This perhaps would be more comfort than having of the large logs on the back. Also it may satisfy requirement for enjoyable foreplay.

And yes, I very much like your advice on finding an enjoyable, climbing girlfriend, as well as any tips to be ensuring that your forearms become refreshed at crux. I am simply trying to think of Sven Lavransen, and many takings of deep breath and visualizing the smooth movement.

I can't get enough of these posts. I even started daydreaming of a "Great Satisfaction of the Flash" Festival for climbing friends to join together for great flashes. Clinics could include :

  • Intro to 4-plan
  • Flash Nutrition 101 - How to keep your buckets clean and full of fish heads/cheesesteaks
  • Flash Training - Proper technique for half erect boulder pressing in mountain stream.

Even a "Climbing Friends Flash Contest".

Endless possibilities. This is what happens when closest cliffs are hours away and you only get to dream of the flash.

Climbing friend erick!

This is an idea excellent most! I very much would enjoy putting on enjoyable great satisfaction of the flash event. Also would be having large bronze statue of Sven lavransen with his sculpted abs and bulging veins of meaty biceps, on site to inspire all for training the mental physical and technique needed for bold excellent flash.

Perhaps it would help your focus to be performing boulder flash while bystanders throw their fishheads at you, forcing you to remain calm and do the focusing. Or maybe you climb out a route of cave while being sprayed with a cold fire hose. That would surely do the limpening of any half erection you may have maintained and force you to rely on climbing skills of flash alone.

Also we may have meditation sessions and learn metaphysical realm entering to make use of what they call 'the force' in movie war stars. In this way you may become like Jedi knight when seeking the glory of the flash.

I am so obsessesed with making the next flash, however, I do not believe I am capable of organizing such event as I am constantly climbing and fantasizing about a bold flash. I even have trouble having the carings to hold a job or be having of a relationship most romantic. There are only so many times you may discuss the glory of the flash before you are fired from a job or dumped by your enjoyable girlfriend.

Perhaps we may find an investor and organizer for event of the flash.

Yes, it brings the joy to the heart to be hearing of a bold flash by a climbing friend, or even though the hard boulder and sport route is best, to be hearing of the adventures had by friends of multiple pitch.

You make excellent points in your writing for forum of internet.

Perhaps you could be giving the assistance for the festival organizing? I feel I am too busy making bold, difficult, yet enjoyable flash all around Colorado to organize this festival of the flash.

I even dream of doing the writing of a training and nutrition plan for flash based on the 4-plan and the wise sayings from Sven Lavransen, although due to my compulsive flashing I may not complete this either.

Climbing friend,

I've met an enjoyable climbing girlfriend, but she is more begginer of climber.

How may I inspire her to lead climb more and work on harder, bold routes for flash?

Would you advise to be yelling and delivering a steady stream of beta all at the same time? Perhaps telling her she must eat more fishheads and cheesesteaks, practice the 4-plan and think of Sven Lavransen when we do sweet the makings of the love?

Or maybe I should simply stand at base of cliff and belay while loudly singing serenade of Norwegian folk songs of lovings most romantic?

In addition to your cold stream training with massive rocks, please would you practice your meditation of the climbing rocks thinking on Sven Lavransen and perhaps his wise saying

Flash or do not, there is no attempt.

Though I am new to the rocks of climbing I have flashed my first 5.10b on this most beautiful of days! I did not use 4-plan but I did take from your words of advice for mental strength! I also did not have the refreshed forearms at the crux but for fear of being a girly-man I forced my way through fatigue!

I hope your weekend has been full of most enjoyable challenges on the climbing rocks!

Climbing friend fajitas!

I very much enjoy your bold writing of the flash. Perhaps next time you would be sharing details on the type of route, area, type of climbing rock, shape of many holds, what you would be liking about this route, and why your forearms were not refreshed at the crux, and whether you maintain the erection half limp during flash.

I myself attempt to flash satisfactory route this weekend last on sandstone quartzite mix. It begins with easy pulling on large sidepulls up to miniature roof. Above this is gently overhanging climbing rocks with very thin crimps of rectangle shape, and a challenging bump of right hand from desparate sloping crimp to more positive slightly bigger crimp. After this the route is to be completed fairly easily if you know how to finish the climbing rocks properly to the anchor utilizing movement to the right and surprising hand jam for refreshments.

However, I do not flash the climbing rocks and my forearms were also not refresh during this crux. I also was unaware of the refreshment hand jam and became too pumped and nervous to gun for crux. I think I was mentally challenge because of too much enjoyable sex from visiting girlfriend from out of town.

This week I think I will be doing the sculpting of the guns in the climbing gym a couple of nights, and then perhaps come back stronger to complete redpoint this weekend comings!

Climbing friend Aleks!

I did not try to flash my difficult climb with a half erection. For I was at the climbing gym with my climbing wife. I feared that climbing wife would become angered at me for looking at possible climbing girlfriend.

Climbing wife and me have only started climbing this winter and the east coast weather has had to much snow and ice for any climbing at the local crags. I am filled with joy to report our weather forecast is promising for our first trip to the crag!

My recent flash of yesterday had many sloping holds and was slightly beyond vertical from bottom to top becoming more inverted toward the top. Slopers and the inversion did not allow for any rest before crux! The crux was near the top of my 50ft climb and required a dynamic dead point move to a large sloper with both hands! It was a joyous accomplishment to flash this climb for I hate sloping holds! We celebrated with Nathan's hot dogs and chicken fajitas rather than cheese steak. It also made climbing wife very hot for me to make love later that night!

Would you be finding it more difficult to complete bold, difficult, yet most enjoyable flash if you are having of the sex too much? I fear this may deplete your half-erection and you would not have as much confidence on your next bold flash.

How much having of the sex may you have without your climbing performance having affected?

Climbing Friend Aleks,

In general I go through life with a half-erection at all times. I find that this makes it easier to rise to the occasion, so to speak, when called upon. I have never found this to be an obstacle to making bold, difficult, yet enjoyable flashes, unless the flash calls for a "belly-flop" move.

I hope that this answers your question. Are you enjoying adequately of the sex now that you have a climbing girlfriend? And has this enhanced or interfered with your making of the bold, enjoyable flashes?

How many fish heads to you consume pre-flash to ensure refreshed forearms at the crux? Is it based on the difficulty of the flash? Is there a ratio you use? I have been struggling lately with my fish head consumption ratio pre-climb which has led to a decrease in flash difficulty and number, quite embarrassing. Please help.

The best ratio, for the nutrition of the climbing rocks, would be a 1:4 ratio of cheesesteaks to fish heads. you must begin 1-3 hours prior to climbing, and be sure to have at least one cheesesteak and appropriate fish head every 2-3 hours after this, and be sure to drink plenty of water, or fish-head juice from the bottom of the bucket for more electrolyte.

For me I am believing that having the forearm refresh at crux is not so much about nutrition. This smore to do about whether you may be most bold, and also achieving the correct mental state at your moment of flashing, and move efficiently with no hesitate.

To achieve this state, I am believing that you must engage of not only copious amounts of time on the climbing rocks and working through your 4-plans, you must too be doing the copious amounts of yoga, meditation, and most important, martial arts training with a true shaolin monk master, so you may learn technique of floating lotus and soaring eagle style, stationary meditation, dynamic meditation, as well as the various crushing grip types. It may also help to watch the original star wars trilogy many times over, and to think on the force and how you may harness this special energy.

I myself recently train floating lotus style with crushing grip of iron fist, and I now experiment with a 5-point palm exploding crimp technique.

Other way of achieving correct mental state I am believing is you must simply toughen yourself up. Perhaps instead of hang boarding, you may hang board while having your climbing friend dump buckets of ice water over your head, and slap you about the back, legs, and abdomen with a thawing fish of considerable size and weight. Perhaps you could have someone shoot you in the back with paintballs as you are working the 4-plan, and stick your hands and feet into beds of hot coals during meditation.

Do not be reducing your volume of true climbing to hang board. You must not be afraid to sometimes get on the hard hard project instead of always going for the great satisfaction of the flash. In this way, you may also improve your technique and strength mental, physical, and metaphysical.

Sven Lavransen tell to me one time passing that the forearm refresh at crux must not be thought about during your climb, or it will not be occurring.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
