Anyone have any idea if Laurel Knob should be pretty dry this weekend after this past week's weather? Hoping to make it out there at least once before I leave NC in June and am worried that soon daily rain will make things pretty wet. Mainly thinking about the grooves on Seconds and Groover for my first time there.
It depends on the amount of rain that falls. The water tables have been fairly low in Panthertown as observed from a trip to Cashiers yesterday. The grooves will dry after several hours in the sun, even after some heavy rain. It may be best to do a face route early, then a groove route later. Laurel gets late day sun, ~11a, so by 2 or 3 things should be great on most routes. The low commitment of seconds may be your best option. It can be difficult to see Groovers upper pitches from the ground. It also saves you the henious march across the base to get to Groover.
