Black Canyon Conditions

Has anyone out there climbed the Black recently? Looking for any info on conditions. Thanks in advance. -Tim

Since its April there is a lot of snow, poison ivy and rattlers. Strange time of year. Bring down jackets, Benadryl, and anti venom.

Thanks Greg! My brother said the same thing! He added in loose rock for good measure.

Is the road to the NR open yet?

Apparently north rim is open, and south too.

I was out there last week. Didn't get to climb but not much snow out there at all, especially towards NR. SR road open but cant speak for NR.

No snow. No people. Lots of rock :) from what I heard the fish are spawning too- worth bringing a pole I reckon.

Pretty clear. SOB was snow free. Looks like most everywhere else was as well.

The early morning was freezing but once the sun had just risen we were out the whole day in just fleeces feelin groovy

So no info yet on the NR road opening? Was gonna head out early next week.

NR is open
all the gullies are clear of snow.
Ivy is coming on.
Its been a bit hotter than normal for this time of year.
