Is my blown out toe repairable?

Don't know much about shoe repair and looking for advice. If I send this to a resoler will they be able to fix it? The rest of the shoe is fine. Should I send one shoe or both?

Looks like you've gotten into the inner structure of the shoe, and the insoles are damaged. This one may be a goner. Send the pic to whatever shoe repair place you're considering and ask them.

If you do get this repaired, get both shoes done. Otherwise, you'll just wind up sending the second one at some guaranteed-to-be-inconvenient time.

No, I would definitely not spend money resoling that. You could get some glue (e.g. freesole) to periodically patch it up a little bit and keep climbing on it until it's completely unusable. Or keep it as a backup/gym shoe.

Locker,

Here are a couple more pics. My camera sucks at focusing up close, so they aren't great. The stitching all appears to be intact, but theres a plastic feeling layer below that which is cracked (the sole?). I like the fit of these shoes and would gladly pay for a repair, but not if its just going to blow out again after 5 pitches.

I guess it depends on the resole place. When I sent my old anasazis with the hole in the toe (small hole, but you could see my toe) to Andes Resoling in Toronto he fixed them right up for me.

I would also send out both shoes so you maintain the same amount of wear on the pair.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
