Jeans?

Curious, does anyone climbs in jeans? If so what brands do you use? Do you prefer jeans over other types of clothing? If, so why? Or if you don't climb if jeans why don't you? And what's your go to pant/short.

Thanks,

Royal Robbins makes some good jeans. I got a bunch and they are part cotton, part polyester, with the gusseted crotch. I wear them more than normal jeans.

I often climb in jeans- Levi's 511, I think.

I climb in Wrangler stretch jeans that have 20% polyester. Regular denim is too restrictive to my freedom of movement, but these jeans work great and they're only about $24. Look like regular blue jeans, though.

Prana is my go to brand, especially the stretch Zion pants, not jeans, but they look nice, and are amazing. Prana also has climbing jeans that stretch with any move I've ever done. It may be pricey, but considering how long they last, I count it as worth it.

Rustler I think, from sprawlmart. Cheap. Don't care if they get torn up, and they do a good job of protecting the legs from the nasty brushy approaches here in the desert. Don't care what they look like on me, and buying a size up from squeeze-me-in-with-butter means they stretch as far as I can. Which isn't much.

levi's 511 dark they are thin enough that i dont die of heat stroke but the are made with a bit of spandex(not all 511s have spandex but if you look youll find a pair) they look great climbing or not and are always coomfy andlet me wiggle

I'm a big fan of the Kuhl clothing company, specifically their line of pants. They also make a jean-type that has stretch panels for mobility. They're a bit pricey, but completely worth it in my humble opinion. (I own like 3 pairs)

Prana Bronson are my go to climbing pants. Also I like my Gramicci Pants, not the ones with the strecthy waist, ones with a regular waist. Kuhl are really nice too. All of these have gusseted crotches which is awesome.

I climb in whatever $1.25 jeans fit me properly at the local ARC or Goodwill.

Prana axiom jeans stretch really well, and have a good thickness to them. I second the Carhartt comment. My go to bushwhacking/groveling pant.

I don't climb in jeans much, but Prana Axiom's are hard to beat...I'm on my 3rd pair.

does dead bird make jeans with the logo on the butt pocket? I would opt for those if they do.

If you're a man and climb OW, you know better than to mess with fancy pants. Thrift store jeans, tape the cuff.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
