Spandex Leggings
|
I have been thinking about starting a site to sell spandex leggings. I've wanted a pair for a while and there are not many good options. They would have cool patterns on them. Is this a terrible idea or would people actually buy them? Can you see yourself wearing a pair and if so how much would you be willing to pay? |

I have seen them before but in my opinion their prices are quite high, the website's hard to use, and I didn't see a pattern I particularly wanted. |

Those look really nice... I am a little surprised that people are willing to pay 80 euros for spandex leggings though. They would be over 100 euros with shipping in the US. |

Time warp! |

I don't actually recommend all these stores, but in the States you can find them at: Lululemon, Old Navy, Forever 21, H&M, Urban Outfitters, REI and many thrift shops... |

Do you think I am off base in that assessment? I was thinking like awesome 80's retro patterns, similar to the ones at the links above. |

I'd recommend the pink lighting. They make you run twice as fast guaranteed. Having said this, I do wish they could make a tight with a reinforced knee and butt. The rough rock a J tree gives them a beating |

I run and climb in them and I always get a great reaction from people, plus they're breathable and seem to do a good job at temperature regulating. I got the blue lighting. I can't really say if it was worth the price but it's nice to know I'm supporting a small business in the US and getting something I use. |

I still don't think I would get a pair of their leggings personally - some of their patterns are cool but none really stand out to me and the price point's a bit high. So-solid.at posted by Beean looks like they offer knee reinforcement but the price is substantially higher. I am still thinking about trying to create some that I would want to buy. |

I think I would have paid about $20 dollars, especially if the there was climbing specific reinforcement. Let me know if you come up with anything. |

You can find cheaper versions of every absurdly-patterned pair of spandex leggings you could ever want on Amazon, Ali-express, or eBay. Robot versus unicorn? Cats in space? T-rex? Yip yips? Night sky scenery? Sunflowers? Paisley prints? Peacock feathers? Basically anything you want can be found for under $10 if you are willing to wait for shipping from China. |

I've bought (WAY TOO MANY) leggings from here and the absurdity/price ratio is high enough to make it seem worth it: aliexpress.com/store/904851 Unfortunately...the workmanship is pretty poor. Cheap knockoff leggings work best if you are small-ish woman who won't stress the badly-sewn seams too badly. My male climbing partners have bravely borrowed my leggings before, but they usually rip them in embarrassing locations. The expensive ones probably don't rip so frequently.Hah dang those are awesome and there's no way to beat the price. I wonder why they don't have any for men? |

If you're going to market tights to climbers you will soon find that the price of the tech material, the time consuming crotch gussets and knee reinforcements, the marketing, warehousing, etc, will all add up and you will fall into the $45-$70 price bracket which, obviously from previous posts, is already filled with other brands that beat you to the punch. |

A return to the 80s sounds good to me. I climbed several grades harder back then :). Was it the spandex ya think? |

Something like the so-solid ones with more retro options and a lot less expensive would do really well I think. |
